This Forum, co-hosted by research institutes affiliated with the two parties, is themed “Prospects for Cross-Strait Exchanges and Cooperation.”
Party representatives will join experts from the tourism, industrial, and environmental sectors to discuss sustainable development and plan the future of cross-strait relations, according to Xinhua.
Highlighting the event’s significance, KMT Chairwoman Cheng Li-wun expressed hope that the KMT can assume the responsibility to “thaw” relations, noting a sense of goodwill from the mainland.

TAO spokesperson Zhang Han echoed these sentiments, stating that peace and cooperation represent mainstream public opinion.
She affirmed Beijing’s willingness to strengthen interactions with the KMT based on the 1992 Consensus and opposition to Taiwan independence.
The upcoming forum represents a concrete effort by both parties to seek peace and well-being, aligning with the expectations of people across the Taiwan Strait.
