Speaking to local media on Wednesday, Lei said that all arrangements for the annual motorsport event are “99 percent ready.” She noted that representatives from the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) conducted an on-site inspection of the Guia Circuit earlier in the day and were satisfied with the safety measures in place.
Lei confirmed that the FIA found no need for additional adjustments to the track facilities. This year, 162 safety gates have been installed along the entire circuit, which will undergo another round of testing to ensure proper functionality. The course has already passed multiple inspections and technical exchanges in the lead-up to the event, with all requirements fully implemented.
Ticket sales have been “exceptionally strong,” Lei said, adding that passes for the main race days on November 15th and 16th are nearly sold out, with only a small number reserved for on-site sales at spectator stands. Tickets for the practice and qualifying sessions on November 13th and 14th have also sold well, typically attracting more walk-in buyers during race week. “Overall, most tickets for this year’s Grand Prix have been sold,” she added.
Lei highlighted that this year’s event has drawn heightened public enthusiasm, coinciding with the 15th National Games also taking place in Macau. Since early November, the city has been buzzing with a strong sports atmosphere and a packed calendar of activities, offering both residents and visitors a lively and festive experience.
