The day’s program begins at 8 a.m. with a National Day flag-raising ceremony at Golden Lotus Square, officiated by Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng. Representatives of the central government’s liaison office, the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the People’s Liberation Army Macau Garrison will join officials from the city’s legislative and judicial bodies, as well as community representatives. The ceremony will be broadcast live by TDM.

At 9:30 a.m., the government will host a large-scale reception at the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform Complex, bringing together representatives from different sectors to mark the occasion.

Several community events are also planned. Following the flag-raising, the Sports Bureau will organize the “2025 Macau Residents Celebrate National Day – World Walking Day Fun Run,” starting at Golden Lotus Square. Meanwhile, the Postal Service will operate a temporary counter at the General Post Office between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., offering a commemorative postmark reading “Warmly Celebrate the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China” and selling commemorative envelopes priced at MOP5 each.

A number of cultural and educational venues will be open free of charge to the public on National Day, including the Grand Prix Museum, the Macau Museum, and the Exhibition Center of the Macau Science Center. The Communications Museum and the Youth Patriotic Education Base will remain open as usual.

Festivities will continue into the evening with the 33rd Macau International Fireworks Display Contest, organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office. Shows will take place on October 1st and 2nd, featuring companies from China, Portugal, the Philippines, and Japan. Each evening will feature two displays, scheduled at 9 p.m. and 9:40 p.m., lasting approximately 18 minutes each. The “Pyrotechnic Carnival” will accompany the event on both days from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the promenade outside the Macau Science Center.

Additionally, temporary pedestrian zones will be set up from October 1st to 7th in Rua dos Ervanários and the Taipa Old Village area, open daily from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., providing visitors with more leisure and cultural experiences during the National Day holiday.
