The appointment was made because she “possesses suitable management capabilities and professional experience, and is able to effectively perform her duties.”
Helena de Senna Fernandes has served as the director of the MGTO since 2012, for more than 12 years. This reappointment procedure was carried out in accordance with relevant articles of Law No. 15/2009 and Administrative Regulation No. 26/2009. The new term will begin on December 20th of this year and will last for 24 months.
This extension means she will continue to lead the MGTO in facing key challenges such as post-pandemic tourism recovery, market diversification, and sustainable development. During her upcoming term, she is expected to continue promoting Macau’s development into a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure and its further integration into the Greater Bay Area development plan.
