The initiative was unveiled at a leadership inauguration ceremony on Thursday, where the San Ieng Taxi Employees Association of Macau signed a training agreement with MAAS Plus. Currently, the association has a membership of 500 and operates a fleet of 700 to 800 taxis.
MAAS Plus, a smart ride-hailing service under Macau Radio Taxi Services, will provide training on smart dispatching, e-payments, and service ratings. The new collaboration seeks to provide initial training for traditional taxi drivers, said Wang Pei Shen, representative of the company.
“Our goal is to reduce idle driving time, increase revenue, and minimise conflicts between drivers and passengers,” she explained. Founded in November 2015, Macau Radio Taxi Services launched its online taxi-hailing service in April 2017.
