It is the end of a love story that was a symbol of equality. Sphen and Magic, a couple of homosexual penguins from the Sydney Aquarium in Australia, were together for six years and had two children, but the oldest penguin has now died. The entire penguin colony came together in a unique tribute.

When the widowed penguin was taken to his dead partner he immediately began to sing and the entire colony sang in chorus. A moment that aquarium technicians say was unique and very beautiful. There is, for now, no record of this moment, but history remains the example of Sphen and Magic.
