The announcement about the suspension of negotiations came after, on Wednesday, those responsible for studios and platforms such as Disney and Netflix met with representatives of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) union, which defends the interests of 160 thousand actors, stuntmen, dancers and other film professionals.
But in a statement on Wednesday, the studios, represented by the Association of Film and Television Producers (AMPTP), announced that the negotiation process had been halted.
“After serious discussions, it became clear that the gap between the positions of AMPTP and those of SAG-AFTRA is very large, and these discussions are no longer moving us forward in a fruitful way”, it was described.
