Representatives from some civil servant associations, such as the Professional Civil Servants Association of Macau, said that although Macau’s budget has been in deficit for three consecutive years, it still managed to maintain a sound fiscal management system.
The Macau Chief Executive, Ho Iat Seng, has recently admitted the possibility of salary increases in the Civil Service later this year.
However, the head of government did not advance with an exact timeline or amounts for the increase.
