“Winter is over. It was very difficult, all Ukrainians felt it. But we managed to supply Ukraine with energy and heating”, stressed the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, in his usual daily evening speech.
Already at the beginning of the day, the head of Ukrainian diplomacy, Dmytro Kuleba, had highlighted that Ukraine had “overcome the terror of winter”. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also pointed out that the European Union (EU) “also won” because “it did not freeze without Russian gas”, which is subject to sanctions.
Russia, which was one of Europe’s main suppliers, had anticipated catastrophic situations in the event of a gas supply cut.
“Our partners stayed by our side and helped each other”, emphasized Kuleba, adding: “There is still a long way to go until the final victory. But we already know how to win.”
