Government demands museum and show plan from gambling operators

João Santos Filipe

Melco promised to bring back The House of Dancing Water show. To meet the Executive’s requirements regarding non-gambling components, proposals submitted included an ice skating enclosure and a rink for skateboarding and inline skating.

The Government has asked the future gaming concessionaires to create the territory’s main art museum, an annual plan of shows and conventions, venues for concerts, shows and open-air works of art. Some of the requests that arose in the context of negotiations between the Executive and the companies applying for the concessions were revealed yesterday by TDM-Rádio Macau.

According to the public broadcaster, the representatives of the concessionaires met for the last time with the members of the gambling commission on Monday, and now they will wait for the provisional attribution of the concessions. According to the deadlines previously presented by the Government, the new concessions will come into effect at the beginning of next year.
