An Iranian man known as “the dirtiest man in the world” for not showering in decades has died at the age of 94, the official press announced on Tuesday.
Amou Haji, who has not showered for more than half a century, died on Sunday in the village of Dejgah in Fars province (southern Iran), the IRNA news agency reported.
According to a local official quoted by the agency, the man, who was single, avoided showering for fear of “getting sick”.
A short documentary titled “The Strange Life of Amou Haji” about his life was released in 2013, according to Iranian media.
