After three days of meeting, European leaders have not yet succeeded, to close the plan with which they intend to restore the European economy, in crisis due to Covid-19.
The summit was scheduled for midday, but the stalemate in the negotiations forced successive postponements throughout the afternoon. The meeting finally turned into a dinner, which started at 19:20 local time in Brussels.
The problems have not changed much since Friday. And one of them has even been aggravated. In particular, the size of the portion dedicated to non-repayable subsidies. The Commission’s proposal, supported by France and Germany, provided for a € 500 billion fund to be created for distribution to Member States in non-repayable grants.
