The death toll in Africa due to covid-19 has risen in the last 24 hours to 4,228, an additional 159, and there are more than 147,000 cases in 54 countries, according to the latest pandemic data on the continent.
According to the African Union’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the death toll rose from 4,069 to 4,228 (+159), while the number of infected people rose from 141,535 to 147,099 (+5,564).
