The country will open its borders with the European Union, without the need for quarantine, from June 3, according to a decree approved this Saturday morning, which also establishes rules for the reopening of the country’s economic activities.
The strategy came out of a long night of meeting of the Italian Council of Ministers and the objective is to encourage a faster return of tourism to the country. Thus, Italy reopens the borders with the countries of the European Union in the Schengen area on June 3 (the last phase of the deconfinition plan), without decreeing mandatory quarantine for those who arrive again in the country.
The legal diploma also determines that from the same date, travel between different regions will be allowed. In addition to adding that travel to and from abroad may only be limited by government measures from other countries and “compliance with restrictions resulting from European Union regulations and international obligations”.
