The covid-19 pandemic, which led to the suspension of competitions, represents “an almost existential threat to the already fragile economy of women’s football”, the Professional Players Union (Fifpro) warned this Thursday. “The current situation is likely to pose an almost existential threat to women’s football, if no measures are taken to protect their economy,” the agency said in a statement.
