The development of artificial intelligence is replacing workers at some of the world’s largest technology companies. According to data collected by international media, companies in the sector have laid off 38,645 workers from the start of 2026 to mid-March — a 52% increase (around 13,200 additional dismissals) compared to the 25,411 recorded in the same period last year.
