The Border Gate checkpoint remained the busiest, handling approximately 1.86 million crossings, up 0.5 percent from last year. Qingmao Port registered around 544,000 crossings (up 1 percent), while the Hengqin Port (Macau side) saw a notable 16.6 percent rise to 535,000 crossings. The Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge Port recorded roughly 398,000 crossings, up 4.2 percent year-on-year.
During the holiday, police strengthened enforcement and issued four penalties against taxi drivers — including two for refusing passengers, one for overcharging, and one involving both bargaining and overcharging. Another seven cases involving inappropriate driver conduct were referred to the Transport Bureau for follow-up, while five unlicensed vehicle cases were prosecuted. The police said they would continue to crack down on such violations.
Meanwhile, large crowds gathered in key tourist areas such as the Cotai Strip, Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, and the Ruins of St. Paul’s. Additional officers were deployed to manage pedestrian and traffic flow and to maintain public order.
Authorities also implemented temporary pedestrian zones in Taipa Village and Rua dos Ervanários, coordinating road closures and traffic diversions. Both residents and visitors generally followed the arrangements, and overall order remained smooth throughout the holiday period.
