Ukraine accuses Russia of 626 cases of use of banned chemical weapons

Ukraine on Sunday accused Russia of using banned chemical weapons in its military operations on Ukrainian territory and claims to have recorded 626 cases of use of this type of ammunition.

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 51 of these cases will have occurred in 2024, with the entity warning that the use of this type of ammunition “is increasing”.

The most used element is the K-51 grenades launched from ‘drones’ (unmanned devices), although the use of “improvised explosive devices equipped with irritating substances” has also been detected.
