Affordable housing in Macau. Ceilings revised downwards

The Chief Executive has changed the maximum monthly income and net worth thresholds for buying affordable housing. Yesterday, there was no official justification for the changes

The ceilings on household income and net worth for applications for affordable housing have been revised downwards, in a measure that comes into force today. The information was released yesterday in an order issued by the Chief Executive, Ho Iat Seng, without any official justification for the change.

In terms of income, when the household is made up of a single person, it cannot exceed 35,650 patacas per month, down from the previous limit of 38,350 patacas per month, a difference of 2,700 patacas.

When the household consists of two or more people, the maximum monthly income limit drops to 71,310 patacas, compared to the previous limit of 76,690 patacas. This reduction corresponds to an amount of 5,380 patacas.
