Angola and China discuss new actions to reinforce strategic partnership

Luanda hosted the second meeting of the Steering Committee for Economic Cooperation between Angola and China, with a view to assessing and drawing up new plans for the partnership between the two Governments.

The Angolan delegation was led by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, while the Chinese one is headed by the Minister of Commerce, Wang Wentao, who was received in an audience on the 12th by President João Lourenço.

The Chinese ambassador to Angola, Gong Tao, recently considered that the meeting is “a good occasion” for the two States to work on new partnerships, not only for the financing of major works, but also to respond to the appeal of the President João Lourenço for economic diversification and implementation of initiatives in the private sector.

The diplomat, who was speaking at the end of an audience granted to him by the Angolan Head of State, to whom he went to offer farewell greetings, after four years and four months in Angola, expressed his Government’s desire to find, , investments in Angola, in the sectors of Industry, Agriculture, Fisheries, mining and Tourism.
