Pope will be hospitalized for several days due to respiratory infection

The Italian press had already published that the Pope revealed, at the end of the morning, “respiratory difficulties” and had been transported by ambulance to the hospital. For its part, the daily “Corriere della Sera” reported that the Pope had been hospitalized due to “heart problems and breathing difficulties”, but added that the situation “is not worrying”. “Il Messaggero” already indicated that, after his traditional Wednesday audience, Francis presented breathing difficulties “considered alarming by Vatican doctors”.

However, the most recent information, provided by the Italian news agency ANSA, states that Francisco does not have any heart problems, that all the tests scheduled – which he concluded today – were related to the respiratory system and that his health status does not inspire concern. . Expressing relief, his office had already disclosed that Francisco had undergone a Computed Axial Tomography (CAT) scan of his chest, the result of which did not reveal any concern.

The leader of the Catholic Church will spend at least this night at the Agostino Gemelli hospital, with his security team already on the tenth floor, reserved for the Popes. Medical sources explained that the oxygen levels in the Pope’s blood are fine and that he has undergone the necessary tests to rule out more serious health problems.
