Ukraine says ‘scale of torture’ in Kherson is ‘simply terrible’

In a televised statement, Lubinets said the findings made by Ukrainian forces after they retook part of the region were different from those found in the Kiev or Kharkov regions, where numerous mass graves were discovered.

“I have never seen such a scale and I have personally visited all the torture centers in the different regions of Ukraine. The dimension is just terrible, ”he underlined.

According to Lubinets, investigations showed that Russian forces tortured Ukrainian prisoners with electric shocks, beat them with iron bars, broke bones and sometimes executed them.

The Ukrainian Minister of the Interior, Denys Monastyrskyi, announced today that the bodies of 63 people with signs of torture have already been exhumed in the recovered areas of Kherson.
