Game: new round of negotiations this week

The gaming commission and the seven competitors will return this week to negotiate the proposals submitted to the international tender for the exploration of casinos

It will be the third time that the representatives of the competitors meet with the gaming committee, after the submission of proposals. After the presentation, a first round followed, which took place in the last week of September.

The sources contacted by TDM-Rádio Macau recognize that, so far, there have been no major advances.

On the one hand, commission members want to know what concrete proposals the seven competitors have for the industry, with particular emphasis on non-game elements.

On the other hand, competitors have insisted on seeking to know the government’s concrete ideas for the future of gambling and, above all, under what real conditions they will be able to explore casinos, taking into account the current limitations caused by the pandemic.

The Government wants to know the timetable for the investments. How much are competitors willing to invest in 2023, 2024 and so on. An issue that has raised some doubts to competitors, as they say it is difficult to draw up concrete plans without knowing whether it will return to a situation of normality in the operation of casinos.
