Italy asks Brazil for extradition of footballer Robinho

Italy’s Ministry of Justice has asked Brazil to extradite former striker Robinho and his friend Ricardo Falco, who have been sentenced to nine years in prison for sexual violence.

The Milan Public Ministry, which had contacted the Italian government, has already been informed about the sending of the extradition request to the Brazilian authorities.

On January 19, 2022, the Supreme Court of Italy confirmed the conviction of Robinho and Falco to nine years in prison for sexual violence, maintaining the sentences imposed in the first and second instances.

The two were sentenced for the rape of a young Albanian girl on January 22, 2013, when the victim was 22 years old.
