“The turning point has already happened,” said the deputy head of the Regional Council and adviser to the military command, Serhiy Khlan, in statements to the Ukrainian television channel Espreso.tv.
Also according to the official, Ukrainian troops are adopting “leadership positions” and are in a position to launch an open counter-offensive.
To date, there have been “strategic steps”, such as the attacks on bridges and infrastructure in Antonovsky and Daryevsky, aimed at destroying ammunition and hampering supplies to the Russian army.
Conditions are now in place to launch artillery attacks with the aim of completing the operation and, by September, regaining control.
