Mount Everest, the world’s largest mountain, had its height revised on Tuesday, after an agreement between China and Nepal on the subject, after decades of debate.
The height set for the highest mountain in the world, which lies between the two countries, was revealed at a joint news conference on Tuesday in Kathmandu: 8,848.86 meters.
Thus, Everest gains 86 centimeters in relation to the measure previously recognized by Nepal and more than four meters in comparison with the height previously disclosed by China.
