The Rotterdam metro derailed and did not fall into the water thanks to a whale-tailed sculpture in the early hours of Monday.
The subway crashed into the safety barriers at the end of the line at Akkers station, and only stopped on top of the urban art piece. The incident occurred at 00:30 on Monday in Spijkenisse, on the outskirts of Rotterdam, in the Netherlands.
The front of the first carriage was sustained in the sculpture about ten meters high. Despite suffering great damage, the accident caused no injuries.
