Angolan Special Economic Zone creates 5,000 jobs

The Luanda – Bengo Special Economic Zone (EEZ) is expected to provide a total of 5,000 jobs to the Angolan labor market by the end of this year.

Data show that, until September, 2,078 jobs had already been registered, of which 1,904 were nationals and 174 were expatriates, resulting from a total of 87 industrial units in operation, according to the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Special Economic Zone and the Agency for Private Investment and Export Promotion (AIPEX).

António Henriques da Silva pointed to the opening of another six new factories in the EEZ in the next two months in the sectors of dairy products, detergents, raffia bags and services, which should generate 2,922 jobs (according to Jornal de Angola accounts) and account for the five thousand outposts.
