The United States recorded 532 deaths and 48,463 infected with a new coronavirus in the past 24 hours, according to an independent count from Johns Hopkins University.
The latest figures bring the total number of deaths to 155,366 and confirmed cases to 4,711,323.
The balance made at 20:00 on Monday (01:00 today in Lisbon) by the news agency Efe also pointed out that although New York was no longer the state with the highest number of infections, it is still the most affected in terms of deaths in the United States, with 32,719, more from France or Spain.
