Parliamentarians clashed over chairmanship of committee that must vote on controversial projects
A fight between rival parliamentarians on the Hong Kong legislative council on Friday showed signs of growing political tension as the effects of the coronavirus pandemic subside in the former British colony.
On the one hand, pro-democracy legislators. On the other, defenders of the Chinese regime. There was shouting, shoving and even posters that some parliamentarians carried were used to exchange aggressions.
