Prices in 70 selected cities fell 0.37% compared to the previous month, according to data released today by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBSC), which had revealed a contraction of 0.39% in November.
Of these cities, 58 recorded reductions in the price of new housing, compared to 59 in November, while six—including some important ones such as Shanghai—recorded increases, slightly fewer than in the previous month (eight).
Calculations based on NBSC data also reflect a monthly reduction of 0.7% in the price of second-hand homes in December, at a slightly faster pace than in the previous reading.
