Macau cuts base rate by 25 basis points, second reduction in six weeks

The Monetary Authority of Macau (AMCM) lowered its base rate by 25 basis points to 4.25 percent on Thursday, marking the second rate cut in just six weeks, in step with moves by the U.S. Federal Reserve and Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

Macau’s commercial banks are expected to follow suit, maintaining the long-standing monetary alignment between the two economies.
