A group of hackers, including Gal Nagli and blogger Ian Carroll, gained access to the FIA Driver Categorisation website, which tracks drivers’ participation in various racing events, ESPN reported.

Among the exposed data were Verstappen’s passport, contact information, FIA correspondence, and sensitive internal communications regarding driver evaluations. The hackers claimed to have accessed this information by applying for admin rights and stopped their testing after discovering the vulnerabilities.

After alerting the FIA about the breach, the organization confirmed that it had taken immediate action to secure drivers’ data and reported the incident to relevant data protection authorities. The FIA emphasized its commitment to cyber security, stating that no other digital platforms were affected and that it has implemented robust security measures to protect its stakeholders.
