The drone attack targeted the apartment of two members of the Lebanese Islamist group Jamaa Islamiya in the Kola neighborhood, according to the source.
In recent days, Israel has shifted the focus of the conflict from Gaza to Lebanon, with bombings against Hezbollah targets that killed, on Friday, the leader of the pro-Iran movement, Hassan Nasrallah.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that at least 105 people died in Sunday’s Israeli attacks across the country.
But Monday’s bombing was the first to hit the center of the Lebanese capital since the conflict in Gaza began in October last year.
“At least four people were killed in an Israeli drone attack on a Jamaa Islamiya apartment in Beirut,” the security services source said.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a secular left-wing group, said three members of the movement died in the attack.
