Visa exemption for foreign passport holders entering 10 Greater Bay Area cities

Starting in October, citizens holding passports from countries with diplomatic relations with China will be able to enter nine cities in the Greater Bay Area and the Shantou region for up to six days without requiring an entry visa.

According to information published today on the official account of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government on WeChat, to benefit from the measure, interested parties must do so as part of group tours that are organized by travel agencies registered in Macau or Hong Kong.

According to the new regional visa-free policy, eligible people must enter these 10 cities in mainland China through Macau or Hong Kong.

Authorities in the interior of the country emphasize, however, that the number of participants to form a tourist group must be at least two people, and they are obliged to cross borders in a group.
