Putin says russians ‘waged civil war’

Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed Russian soldiers this Tuesday to ensure that “chaos” will have been avoided and a “dangerous development” will have been stopped, with the impediment of the Wagner group rebellion, which lasted 24 hours.

In a short message of about five minutes, Putin spoke in defense of Russia’s security forces, the “true defenders in troubled times”. He further stressed that neither the armed forces nor the people were on the side of the rebellion, and called for a minute’s silence for the Russian servicemen killed by the mutineers, as they “honorably discharged their duty”.

“Those who were drawn into the rebellion saw that the army and the people were not on their side,” Putin stressed, assuring that the work of the security forces on Saturday “prevented the extremely dangerous development of the situation.”

According to the Kremlin leader, who spoke on Cathedral Square in Moscow, the Russian military and secret services (FSB) “fought the civil war”, acting in a coordinated manner, “out of loyalty to the people of Russia”. “The result of this [rebellion] would be chaos,” Putin stressed.
