BNU reopens revamped main branch

TDM Rádio Macau

Banco Nacional Ultramarino has reopened its main branch located at Avenida Almeida Ribeiro, following a revamp of the facilities.

In his speech, the bank’s CEO Carlos Cid Álvares reminded that BNU has been serving Macau for 120 years and “is guided by a strategy of proximity and customer focus, in which service modernization and innovation play a crucial role”.

Carlos Cid Álvares also highlighted in his speech that “BNU works in parallel on these two strategic vectors, maintaining a strong focus on innovative and more comprehensive solutions for digital channels, while remaining committed to the improvement of physical service spaces”

he renovated main branch brings a new space with a “modern and functional layout, which, combined with the professionalism and knowledge of BNU’s staff, will certainly provide the best banking experience”.

The historic façade is now integrated with a modern interior, resulting in a true symbiosis between the past and the future, and seeking to keep up with the design trends of the digital era.

The interior design concept is inspired by the iconic BNU caravel, which represents the Portuguese adventurous spirit and a multicultural approach.

The current interior design of the Head Office maintains its symbolic legacy, becoming the structural basis of the caravel itself, but where the traditional wooden hulls are changed to white profiles, which unite the entire lobby space. In terms of geometry, the generatrix is based on the existing curve of the cashier’s counter and extends radially towards the first-floor ceiling, the mezzanine balcony and the light well of the main lobby. This holistic approach allows for more dynamism in terms of space and conveys the idea of modern-day mobility and evolution. As the digital age is composed of fibre optics and wireless networks to connect the world, most of the materials were purposely chosen to provide the client with a sense of lightness, using white and ultramarine blue, both parts of the BNU brand’s DNA.

The event ended with a pleasant catering service and a guided tour of the agency’s renovated facilities, providing all guests with a memorable and enjoyable moment.
