The Argentine international had signed until 2031, but according to the Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, the blues have already exercised the option to extend the contract until 2032. All, according to the English press, from a perspective of UEFA’s financial fair play.
The Blues have already signed Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile and David Datro Fofana to long-term contracts in order to extend payments and circumvent UEFA’s financial fair play. A strategy that has sparked controversy and protests from other Premier League clubs, who allege unfair competition.
UEFA wants to limit the maximum duration of contracts to five years.
