Lula da Silva and Jair Bolsonaro dispute the second round of presidential elections in Brazil

Candidate Luís Inácio Lula da Silva and the current Brazilian head of state will contest the second round of the presidential elections in Brazil, which takes place on October 30

According to official data, Lula da Silva obtained 47.85% of the votes in the first round while Bolsonaro had 43.70%, when 96.93% of the electoral sections are accounted for.

With these partial results, the election is now “mathematically defined” and requires a second round.

In addition to Lula da Silva and Bolsonaro, the 156 million voters called to the polls had the possibility to vote for Ciro Gomes, Simone Tebet, Luís Felipe D’Ávila, Soraya Tronicke, Eymael, Father Kelmon, Leonardo Pericles, Sofia Manzano and Vera Lúcia as candidates for the Brazilian presidential elections.
