Mozambique in a state of emergency as of today, April 1

The President, in a declaration to the nation, announced that Mozambicans must therefore observe restrictions on circulation and other specific measures that must be announced by the Council of Ministers.

The state of emergency enacted by President Nyusi, reinforces the measures already enacted in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, including the suspension of classes from pre-school to university education in public and private education, or participation in funerals and religious services of more than 50 people.
