Oxford vaccine should be distributed this year, says Astrazeneca

The vaccine is being tested in Brazil.

The vaccine against covid-19, developed by the University of Oxford, in England, with tests in Brazil, may be available to the population later this year. The statement was made by Maria Augusta Bernardini, medical director of the pharmaceutical group Astrazeneca. The Anglo-Swedish group participates in the research of the English university in partnership with the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp).

“We hope to have preliminary data on actual effectiveness already available around October, November,” said Bernardini. According to her, although the volunteers are accompanied for a year, there is the possibility of distributing the vaccine to the population before that period.
