Guinea-Bissau converts Koranic schools into madrassas

The Government of Guinea-Bissau is going to start this year a baccalaureate course in Arabic to convert Quranic schools, teaching Islam, into madrassas, educational establishments where students acquire other skills besides religion.

The Arabic language baccalaureate course will start this academic year, which should start on September 14, at the Superior school “Tchico Té” with teacher training, announced the Minister of Education, Jibrilo Baldé.

The training of teachers will be carried out by Guinean teachers trained in Arab countries.
