Geovany Quenda will be a Chelsea reinforcement from 2026, PLATAFORMA found out. The fact that he would stay another year at Alvalade was decisive in Sporting accepting a deal that would not reach his release clause, worth 100 million euros.
There were other interested parties, namely Manchester United, but practically all clubs wanted to have the 17-year-old as of September. Chelsea, however, played an important card on the table, the footballer’s permanence for another season at Alvalade.
There is already an understanding between Quenda and the English club and now the rough edges are being smoothed out between Chelsea and Sporting, specifically with regard to the transfer tranches, which should be around 70 million euros.
Quenda will sign a long contract, valid for seven seasons.
