The investigation into the murder of businessman Antonio Vinicius Lopes Gritzbach, 38, at Guarulhos International Airport last Friday (8), has three main hypotheses.
These hypotheses follow groups of suspects who might have had an interest in his death: the criminal faction PCC (First Capital Command), police officers mentioned in his plea deal, or the person who gave him jewelry valued at R$1 million ($174,000).
According to the police, the businessman was marked for death by the faction. He was a defendant, suspected of being one of those who ordered the killing of the alleged PCC leader who used the businessman’s services for money laundering.
Another line of investigation focuses on police officers who provided his private security or who might have been targets of his testimony.
A final hypothesis investigated by the police is the supposed connection between the jewelry he received during a trip to the Northeast and the crime. The person who gave him the jewelry valued at R$1 million is now considered a suspect by the case investigators.
