Sands China collaborated with five local organisations for the carnival, which was held in support of the “Seeking Help for Winning the Future” responsible gaming promotions of the Macao government.
Themed on “Passing Down the Wisdom About Financial Management to the Next Generation,” the carnival’s 10 fun and interactive activities had the objective to improve family communication, develop smart financial management concepts, and increase responsible gaming awareness among families.
Sands China Ltd. Executive Vice Chairman, Dr. Wilfred Wong, said: “At Sands China, we understand that parents have a profound influence on their children’s financial habits, and we are therefore pleased to bring back this responsible gaming carnival for the second year. The carnival features a variety of creative and fun parent-child games, aiming to enhance financial literacy through interaction.
“We hope that while enjoying family time, parents can help children understand the importance of financial management, cultivate positive spending attitudes, savings habits, and the spirit of helping others. Our thanks go to all who participated, and to the Macao SAR government in leading the way with its responsible gaming promotions.”
The carnival was co-organised by Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office, Young Men’s Christian Association of Macau, Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home, Youth Volunteers Association of Macao, and Macao Bosco Youth Service Network.
It was supported by the Social Welfare Bureau, the Education and Youth Development Bureau, University of Macau, and Macao Polytechnic University.
Sands China remains committed to the well-being of its guests and recognises the importance of responsible gaming in the Macao community. Sands China was the first gaming operator in Macao to launch a self-exclusion programme in 2004, and was a pioneer in including responsible gaming training in its company-wide team member orientation programme.
Sands China established its comprehensive responsible gaming programme in 2007, with the goals of contributing to the continuous development of the Macao community, bearing corporate responsibility in addressing social issues and developing an environment and a culture of responsible gaming in Macao.
