Tommy Paul repeats Andy Roddick’s feat in 2009

Tennis player Tommy Paul became the first American to reach the semi-finals of the Australian Open since Andy Roddick in 2009 when he beat his compatriot Ben Shelton.

In a match that lasted three hours and six minutes, Tommy Paul beat Shelton 7-6(6), 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.

Paul will be the last American representative on a board that accumulated four tennis players from the United States in the last 16 (Sebastian Korda, Tommy Paul, J.J. Wolf y Ben Shelton).
