Ukrainian police said they had located up to 25 facilities used by Russian forces to torture prisoners in the Kharkiv region, in the east, recently recovered by Ukraine.
In these prison camps, civilians were held in inhumane conditions and tortured, explained Volodimir Timoshko, chief of police in that region, in a message posted on the social network Facebook.
Some prisoners were subjected to electric shocks and others had their fingers broken, said Timoshko, quoted by the Europa Press agency.
