US intelligence agencies have reason to believe that someone in the Ukrainian government authorized the attack that in August killed Darya Dugina, the daughter of influential Russian nationalist propagandist Alexander Dugin.
According to information gathered by the New York Times, the Americans not only did not participate in any way in the attack, but were also surprised by the attack carried out with a car bomb on the outskirts of Moscow.
The Biden administration is said to have learned of the secret findings last week.
More than once since the start of the invasion, Ukrainians have managed to hit targets in Russia, but in the aftermath of the bombing, Kiev has denied any involvement.
