The Spanish government expressed its “support” this Tuesday for the inclusion of Ukraine in the joint Iberian bid to organize the 2030 Football World Cup, believing that sport and peace must always be together.
“Of course, the government would support the inclusion of Ukraine in the Iberian candidacy for one reason: linking sport to peace is always good news”, justified the spokeswoman for the Executive, Isabel Rodríguez.
The English newspaper The Times reported on Monday that the governments of Portugal and Spain had already agreed to include Ukraine in the proposal, as did its president, Volodymyr Zelensky.
