Survey shows that in 2020 more than in the previous 90 years added up
In the US, magazine covers have already brought more blacks in 2020 than in all of the previous 90 years, added up. The data was collected by the Magazine Innovation Center, at the University of Mississippi School of Journalism.
The event that sparked the transformation was the death of George Floyd by the Minneapolis police on May 25. According to the survey, all 126 covers with blacks, this year, presented them “in a positive and edifying way”.
